Protection District personnel assist the Salina Fire
Protection District with a fully involved
residential structure fire. Units dispatched for a
possible chimney fire, on – scene units reporting a
working fire at that location.
Bourbonnais
personnel upgraded to the scene with Engine 63 to
assist with suppression and water supply activities.
Due to inclement weather conditions including
impassable road conditions and a lack of water in
the area additional personnel requested to the scene
with Tower 69.

Protection District personnel responded to
residential fire alarm system activated. First
arriving units report nothing showing from three
sides, upon further investigation light smoke found
in the interior of the home. Homeowner advised that
he had just started up the fireplace. Fire personnel
determined a potential problem with the fireplace
and advised homeowner to follow up with installers.

District personnel receive auto – aid for possible
structure fire. First arriving fire unit report
nothing showing, upon further investigation an
extension cord being used for Christmas decorations
shorted out causing some charring damage to the
exterior siding. With no further assistance needed
auto – aid units returned.

Fire Protection District personnel assist Kankakee
City Fire personnel with working structure fire in
five – story apartment building. Ambulance personnel
used to assist the city department initially with
additional calls, then reassigned to triage
displaced residents of fire building at local
resource center. Tower 69 personnel assigned to
second floor to assist with search, rescue and fire
suppression activities. Tower 69 personnel later
reassigned after changing bottles to search the
fifth floor for potential victims and remove to a
safe environment. The district also responded a
Chief Officer to the scene as the planning Chief of
the incident.

District personnel assist the Bradley Fire
Department with a possible garage fire. First
arriving Bradley units report light smoke, out
investigating all incoming units report to staging.
Investigation reveals homeowner extinguished fire
with garden hose, all staging units sent home, those
at the scene committed to checking for extension and
overhaul.

District personnel assist the Bradley Fire
Department with a salvage yard fire. On scene units
report a large fire in a pile of compacted cars with
limited access and water supply. A request for the
auto – aid companies to be dispatched to assist with
extinguishment of fire. Due to limited water supply
a tender box was also activated to assist with water
supply. Due to the size and access to the area, the
scene was divided into a south and north sector. The
south sector used aerial streams and an established
water supply to assist in the suppression
activities. The north sector used a limited water
supply that included the use of tenders to support
engine company suppression activities.

District personnel responded to a single family
residence for an odor investigation. Upon arrival
nothing showing from three sides on the exterior, an
investigation of the interior revealed a light smoke
in the residence. Crews investigating found a sump
pump in the crawl space had overheated and caused
the smoke and odor.

Bourbonnais Fire
Protection District personnel responded as part of a
MABAS 7 Strike Team with Boats to Wateska, Illinois
to assist in removing victims from flood waters.
Other departments involved in the response included
boats and personnel from the Bradley Fire
Department, Kankakee City Fire Department, and the
Otto Township Fire Protection District. Other
departments activated prior to this MABAS deployment
included the Aroma and Momence Fire Protection
Districts. A Chief Officer also assisted the
Kankakee City Fire Department and Kankakee County
Officials with preplanning an Incident Action Plan
for potential flooding occurring in the Kankakee County
area.

Protection District personnel assist the Aroma Fire
Protection District on a single family residential
fire. Through the Kankakee County MABAS 7 box alarm
system the department was activated to assist Aroma
units with an engine crew to the scene for
suppression and overhaul activities.

Manteno Fire Protection District on a single family
two story residential fire. Bourbonnais Fire
personnel were assigned to assist the Manteno
firefighters working at the scene with ventilation.
After completion of this task B.F.P.D. were
released our quarters.

local restaurant. Tower 69 personnel initially
assigned to assist with ventilation activities.
Tower 69 personnel setup aerial master stream
operation later in the incident.
The district also responded a Chief Officer
to the scene as the planning Chief of the incident.

aid for possible structure fire. First arriving fire
unit report nothing showing, upon further
investigation, light smoke reported in the crawl
space area.
Companies on the scene can handle all auto –
aid units returned. Fire investigators determine
that smoke was caused by a carelessly discarded
cigarette that had fallen between the patio deck and
the patio door. Damage was limited to this area.

personnel were at the scene of a working structure
fire.

Bourbonnais Fire Protection
District with auto – aid companies respond to a
report of a residential structure fire. First on –
scene units reporting a working fire at that
location. Fire brought under control with 20 minutes
of arriving on – scene. Fire investigators determine
that the fire was caused by individuals trying to
thaw out frozen pipes. The fire left two people
homeless and was estimated to be around $50,000 for
the structure and contents.
While on the scene,
units were dispatched to a report of a second
structure fire on the northwest portion of the
village. Due to on scene units being committed, a
box alarm was dispatched to the second incident.
Crews arriving at the second reported structure fire
report a car transmission line broke spraying fluid
onto the motor area. No problem at this location.

Bourbonnais Fire Protection
District personnel responded to a report of a motor
vehicle accident. Enroute dispatch center advised
the accident was in the Bradley Fire Department
response area and involved a semi tractor and
trailer being involved with entrapment.
First
arriving units report tractor trailer on its side
with one trapped and a diesel spill. Our personnel
assisted the Bradley Fire Department with
extrication of victims, transport of one victim and
cleanup of the diesel spill.
