At the September 26th, 2023, Board of Trustees meeting, action was taken and approved to declare a 2008 Horton Ambulance as surplus equipment. Furthermore, the Board of Trustees have authorized the Fire Chief begin accepting bids for the unit. The ambulance sits on a 2008 International 4300 chassis and is powered by a DT466. Current milage is 142,176 and hours are 15,875. The unit has an automatic transmission, with air brakes, air ride suspension, and engine braking system. Sealed bid Requirements can be found below.

Sealed Bid Requirements

• The Bourbonnais Fire Protection District is accepting bids on a 2008 Horton Ambulance.
• The vehicle is being sold as is, with no warranty expressed or implied.
• Prior to the sale of the vehicle, any decals showing affiliation with the Bourbonnais Fire Protection District shall be removed by the
Bourbonnais Fire Protection District.
• All radios, computer equipment, and lock boxes remain property of the Bourbonnais Fire Protection District and shall be removed prior
to the sale of the unit.
• The Bourbonnais Fire Protection District is not responsible for the cost of any non-affiliated fire agency in removing the emergency
lights from the unit. That responsibility solely relies upon the non-affiliated agency.

• Sealed bids must be received on or before Monday, October 23, 2023, at 16:00 hrs. (4 pm) at the District Headquarters located at 1080

• Bids must be received in a sealed envelope, prominently marked “Sealed Bid for 2008 Horton Ambulance”. Any bids received by fax or
email will not be accepted.
• Bid Opening: Sealed bids will be publicly opened during the Fire District Trustees meeting at the District’s Headquarters located at 1080
Armour Road, Il. 60914 on Tuesday, October 24, 2023. The meeting is scheduled to begin at 16:00 hrs. (4 pm) and all bids received will
be read aloud and recorded.
• The bid recipient is solely responsible for the pickup and delivery of the unit
• The Bourbonnais Fire Protection District reserves all rights to accept or reject any and/or all bids, whichever is in the interest of the
Bourbonnais Fire Protection District.
• Payment of the vehicle must be in the form of a cashier’s check made out to the Bourbonnais Fire Protection District at the time of
pickup of the vehicle.
