The Bourbonnais Fire Protection District does not solicit donations by phone

This morning we received a call from the wife of one of our retired members. She had received a phone call this morning at her home from someone seeking a donation over the phone to "benefit fire protection districts". The caller did not identify themselves by name or the organization they are representing. We want our residents to know that we were never informed by this anonymous group that they would be calling our residents. Please do not allow yourselves to be pressured into donating to this group, they do NOT represent the Bourbonnais Fire Protection District.

There are two organizations within Illinois that directly support fire protection districts. The Illinois Association of Fire Protection Districts (IAFPD) and the Northern Illinois Alliance of Fire Protection Districts (NIAFPD). Neither of these organizations solicit donations by phone.

The Bourbonnais Fire Protection District does solicit donations by mail in December for our annual Valentines Dance in February. In June the Bourbonnais Firefighter's Association sponsors a fish fry during the Bourbonnais Friendship Festival. In the summer the Bourbonnais Firefighters collect money in front of local businesses for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Anyone wishing to make a donation to the Bourbonnais Fire Protection District can do so by stopping by the fire station located at 1080 Armour Road.
