Village of Bourbonnais No Burning Ordinance

The sometimes simple solution to our spring time yard cleaning and/or cleaning the garage/storage shed is to start a small fire in the back yard and burn it. The Village of Bourbonnais has established by ordinance that no open burning is to be conducted with the Village limits. The Bourbonnais Protection Fire District is responsible for ensuring that the "Open burning" ordinance is complied with by all residents living within the Village limits. For properties that are 1000' feet of the Village boundaries the same ordinance language applies to residents who wish to burn. In the event that the Fire District receives a compliant regarding open burning, the Fire District will investigate and determine what steps are to be taken based on the facts found by fire department personnel. The language found in the ordinance can be found by clicking the attachment below.
